Ideally, as soon as your team is chosen for the upcomg year this should be addressed. This allows time to set the ball rolling, gather momentum, get people excited, begin fundraising and start the booking process.
Personal musings from Eric McAleer, Managing Director of Excel International Sports, on what's new in soccer travel. He has been involved in soccer for over twenty-eight years as a player, a coach, a state board member, an O.D.P. staff member and an international soccer tournament director. He has been in the sports travel industry for the last thirteen years.
Why am I writing this? Soccer has been front and center in my life and career for many years. During this time I have been fortunate to meet some of the most amazing people, watch some great teams, see some excellent players and visit some of the world's most famous places in the process. I also have been blessed to watch amazing soccer played in some of the most remarkable venues around the world. As our business has grown, so have my opportunities to learn what is the 'perfect trip' for each team that chooses to travel. Much of my time is spent with soccer people, talking about soccer, and I feel there may be some benefit to putting my comments and experiences to paper and sharing them. Currently the plan is to update this blog from time to time as the information warrants, keeping it simple and concise. I shall gladly amplify or answer any questions which may arise. This is not a sales sheet, but rather my musings on interesting ideas within the soccer travel world.
